Outbound — Privacy Policy.
Last updated: June 3, 2026
Outbound ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Outbound mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.
If you have questions, contact us at privacy@outboundwear.com.
Summary
- We collect the information you give us (email, profile, posts) and your location, to run a social travel map that shows you who and what is nearby.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Some information you provide (your profile, posts, approximate location, and status) is visible to other Outbound users by design.
- You can edit your profile and delete your account and data at any time from within the App.
Information we collect
Account & contact information
- Email address — used to sign you in (one-time passcode) and, if you use Sign in with Apple, the email associated with your Apple Account (which may be a private relay address you control).
- Name — your display name / username, and optionally a full name you provide or that Apple shares when you use Sign in with Apple.
Profile information you provide
- Profile photo, bio, traveler type, current status/"vibe," countries visited, home city, and an optional public blockchain wallet address.
Location
- Precise location (GPS latitude/longitude), collected only while you use the App and only with your permission, to place you on the map, stamp your passport, and show you travelers and events nearby. You can disable location access at any time in your device Settings; some features will be limited.
User content
- Posts, comments, photos you upload, and messages/interactions you create in the App.
Identifiers
- A user account identifier we generate to maintain your account.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: the map, nearby travelers and events, your passport, posts, comments, and notifications.
- To show your profile, status, posts, and approximate location to other users as part of the App's social features.
- To keep the App safe and operational (e.g., preventing abuse, debugging).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How your information is shared
- With other users: your username, profile photo, bio, status, countries visited, posts, comments, and approximate/precise location (as applicable to a feature) are visible to other Outbound users by design.
- With our service provider (Supabase): we use Supabase to host our database, authentication, and storage. Your data is processed and stored on Supabase infrastructure on our behalf.
- With Apple: if you choose Sign in with Apple, authentication is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Third-party content services: the App loads avatar images (DiceBear), city/skyline images (LoremFlickr), and a public developer-events feed (developers.events). These receive only non-identifying request data (e.g., a username used as an avatar seed); they do not receive your account, contact, or location data.
- Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the App.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time from within the App (Account menu → Delete account). You may also email privacy@outboundwear.com to request deletion. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated personal data from our active systems.
Your choices
- Location: enable/disable in device Settings.
- Profile: edit or remove profile details in the App.
- Account: delete your account and data in the App at any time.
Children's privacy
Outbound is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (including encryption in transit and authentication via Supabase) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App.
